Fallacy Paper Topics - Are They Necessary? If you're a young person or even if you're not, you might have heard of fallacy paper topics. Or perhaps you've considered using one for your college papers, but weren't sure if they were appropriate for your particular needs.
The idea behind this is to make sure that you are being honest in your college paper. In other words, you don't want to be writing about stuff that can only benefit yourself, or you don't want to take the honors out of your college education by taking advantage of things that aren't really applicable to the paper topic. While many people use these paper topics, they can be very controversial. I've taken some flack for my own usage of fallacy paper topics, but I think they are necessary for many college students. After all, writing something so as to allow the highest credit (and therefore the most opportunities for awards) isn't always achievable. If you are going to go into public service, for example, then the best thing you can do is try and avoid subjecting yourself to unnecessary criticism. Writing about that is not helping you accomplish that goal. A better way to approach these fallacy paper topics is to address both sides of the argument. Sometimes, you'll find that people will only read one side of an argument. If you've taken that approach, then your essay may wind up being either too short or too long. So take both sides of the argument, and have each viewpoint covered. This will provide more information for the reader to consider. I think many students will choose to read both sides of an argument, and the result is a much more complete analysis of the entire situation. When you're writing, it's important to have the facts straight and to give them out. I also believe that using words like 'or' in order to indicate that there are two options that are opposite of each otheris often overused. The better way to do this is to not use those words at all. The college paper topics are especially effective when they start off with something that starts off a debate. College is usually about living with the consequences of your actions, and the topic of the paper will start off with a question or two. As the essay progresses, your viewpoint will shift towards the answer to the question, and you'll find yourself stating your thoughts for the first time. With a little bit of practice, you'll soon find that fallacy paper topics aren't as bad as many people make them out to be. You'll learn a lot from them, and they'll help you get a good grade, too. For example, you'll learn how to write with facts and how to include both sides of the argument, but don't let yourself be too critical of yourself. They aren't designed to help you be better or more successful, they're designed to help you write a quality paper.
